At the Palazzo Reale in Milan, from 25 September 2019 to 19 January 2020, the great exhibition on Giorgio de Chirico (Volos, 1888 - Rome, 1978) that crowns the international celebrations dedicated to one of the most brilliant and controversial protagonists of twentieth-century art.

The exhibition, thanks to works from the main international museums, tells the exceptional artistic story of Pictor Optimus in its most extraordinary aspects.

A journey into the complexity of de Chirico's work full of enigmas and pictorial mysteries and which is revealed, in the halls of the Palazzo Reale, as a rich tale of great topicality. A path built on images and his painting "seen up close", from the world of Greek mythology full of family memories to the relationship with the mother figure, "la centauressa" Gemma de Chirico, to the revolutionary and unprecedented discovery of metaphysical painting that influenced everyone the surrealist painters and dazzled, among others, René Magritte, Max Ernst, Salvador Dalì.

An exhibition project, therefore, to be able to see with an unprecedented look the complexity and multiplicity of a tireless inventor that marked the international painting of the twentieth century.
